Perth based mother and son duo work with Yodel to deliver over 173,000 Mother’s Day flowers
Lesley Clancy (55) and her son Brendan Clancy (28) have worked together at Yodel for over eight years. Together, they have had a very busy Mother’s Day weekend as the parcel carrier delivered over 173,000 bouquets across the country.
Lesley joined Yodel in 2012 in the customer service support department at Perth, managing bookings, claims and compliance. When an opportunity became available for a sorter, she decided to put her son, Brendan, forward. At the time, Brendan was only 19 years old, but he has excelled during his time at the company and is now a team leader for the neighbourhood courier and sort operation.
The pair have worked tirelessly together over the Mother’s Day period, as Yodel had another busy year for flower deliveries. Yodel currently delivers flowers for major retailers including Appleyard London, Blossoming Gifts and E-Florist.
Lesley Clancy, Customer Service Support at Yodel, commented: “Working with my son, Brendan, has had its ups and downs, but it has definitely brought us closer. It’s sometimes very difficult to see my son at work and not be able to respond as his mother, but as a colleague. However, the positives far outweigh the negatives as I get to see him every day, and I still bring him his lunch even though we don’t live together anymore!”
