Meet our team: Charlotte Audas, a Software Solution Designer
Charlotte started her Yodel journey 8 years ago as an analyst. Over the past two years, Charlotte and her team have played a key role in the design and delivery of some of Yodel’s most transformative projects, including our Driver App, our new Under The Roof app, which supports our colleagues on our operational sites, our award-winning client portal, eRin and the introduction of Solo, the one-stop internal tool. Talking about the range of projects delivered, Charlotte says ‘Seeing the amount of change the IT team have delivered and how this has been positively received across the business is so rewarding’
‘My team is made up of a mixture of roles including Solution Analysts, Designers, Architects and UX Designers who all fantastic. I work closely with every member of my team on the projects they are assigned to’ Charlotte says, with her team are involved from the very start of each project; ‘We start with the definition of the business and users’ requirements, working with teams across the business along with some excellent product owners. Through listening to the different colleagues’ requirements, we are able to translate these into a solution that colleagues are happy to use. The teams work collaboratively with our agile delivery teams to take these requirements from definition, into development and production.’
‘The past two years have been non-stop at Yodel; seeing the amount of change the IT team have delivered and how this has been positively received within the different areas of the business as well as external stakeholders has been phenomenal. This is what I enjoy most about my role - working with colleagues. This is what drives me everyday and why even though there have been so many transformative projects delivered in such a short space of time, we’re not stopping anytime soon!’
‘Coming next, we are continuing to develop and improve on our Under The Roof colleague app and adding functionality such as Scan to Trailer and Load to Driver tour, further removing the need for legacy, handheld terminals.
We’re also looking at the next phase of our Solo colleague portal roadmap, and how we can further reduce the number of systems that our colleagues need to use day-to-day and how we can bring all information together into one, easily accessible place that truly is ‘Solo’.
Summing up her 8 years at Yodel, Charlotte says ‘When I joined Yodel as an Analyst my current role did not exist. As our IT practises moved into an agile delivery there was a requirement to have a Solution Design team and I was delighted to be promoted to be the manager of this incredible team. Over the past few years, the team has grown and now myself and every member of the team is involved in nearly all of our functional IT deliverables that happen today. We are the link between colleagues and the delivery teams - we’re always keeping the users in our minds and their requirements at the forefront whilst working on the best possible solution we can design to not only deliver but to surpass users’ expectations.’
