Yodel plays Cupid for thousands this Valentine's Day
Over 100,000 bouquets of flowers delivered by the UK’s leading parcel delivery company.
Yodel, the UK's leading parcel delivery company, played Cupid yesterday (14 February) with over 100,000 flower deliveries across the UK on behalf of love struck Valentines - a 20% increase on the number of floral deliveries it made last year.
Yodel, which has several well known floristry clients has specialist capability to handle delicate items such as bouquets, which cannot go through the usual parcel sorting process.
The company's planning for Valentine's starts in December and its breakdown of forecasted floral deliveries for its 57 service centres, which cover every postcode in the UK, also reveals a picture of romance across the country.
Yodel's Vauxhall service centre handled the highest number of Valentine's bouquets with nearly 8,500 deliveries for London love birds, and a further 23,500 being delivered from its surrounding bases to the capital and home counties.
Outside of the South East, Yodel's Middleton workforce helped 4,000 Northerners to say it with flowers, while its Bristol drivers kept sweethearts in the South West happy with 3,600 floral deliveries. In Scotland, Glaswegians proved to be the most romantic with 3,400 gestures of love being delivered by Yodel's drivers and couriers.
Yodel's Chief Commercial Officer, Peter Fisher, commented on the delivery volumes: "Valentine's is a key event in our floral clients' calendars and we invested in detailed planning to ensure that these time sensitive and delicate deliveries reached their recipients on the big day."
