These have not originated at Yodel and we're working with the authorities to take action against them. "Yodel was selected as our sole carrier for the prestigious Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red project, delivering the ceramic poppies which had been on display at the Tower of London to hundreds of thousands of supporters around the globe.

The 888,246 delicate pottery poppies, which had been part of a unique installation to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War, were sold individually to raise money for six charities. From the start Yodel worked closely with us on our design of the packaging, and with the retailer, Historic Royal Palaces, on the IT required for this bespoke one-off project.

World Book Night

"World Book Night is a complicated event to organise. It sees 20,000 boxes of books delivered to half a million volunteers, via a network of thousands of bookshops and libraries who act as collection points. Each volunteer then gives their 20 books to people in their community who don’t regularly read or have access to books and hundreds of events celebrating reading are organised.

It takes place on April 23 and rather like Christmas, the books all have to be there at exactly the same time with late or missed delivery meaning a very sad World Book Night for some. In the past we’ve experienced almost every delivery hiccup possible, particularly as the use of bookshops and libraries as delivery intermediaries adds another layer of handling to an already complicated process.
